We visit possibly the most talked about city of the past couple of years - Leicester - made famous by Richard III and Jamie Vardy!

We start the story at the Battle of Bosworth Battlefield site where, on 22 August 1485, the Plantagenet reign ended and the Tudor dynasty began when Richard III lost his life and crown on the battlefield at the hands of Henry Tudor’s army.

We then move into the City Centre. The King Richard III Visitor Centre in the former Alderman Newton’s School, located right next to the spot where the king’s remains were found, is now complete, and tells the fascinating and moving story of the king’s life and death, and reveals one of the greatest archaeological detective stories ever told. Leicester Cathedral has the tomb of the recently reburied Richard III.

Other Leicester attractions include the Jewry Wall Roman Museum, New Walk Museum and Art Gallery and Leicester Market, one of the largest covered markets in the country.
