Delamere at Christmas 2010

Delamere Forest

27th November 2010 - 19th December 2010

Visit Delamere Forest for a great family experience this Christmas.

And, as Delamere Railway Station is at heart of the Forest's Christmas activites, why not travel by train?

Delamere at Christmas can be found at the Whitefield Car Park, which is a couple of minutes walk from the station.  Admission is free.

Remember, if you are travelling after 9am Monday to Friday or all day Saturday or Sunday you can use the Northern Rail Duo Ticket that gives you one return train ticket, plus a second for half price - when two travel together.

Delamere Forest is the Forestry Commission's largest Christmas Tree Point in the North West - although if you are thinking of buying a Christmas Tree, we would recommend you travel by car!

Christmas tree sales start on Saturday 27th November from 9am to 4.30pm at the Whitefield Car Park. Last tree sales day is Sunday 19th December.

But there is much more than tree sales ....

There will be hot food and drinks - all with a local flavour - during opening hours from the Victorian Themed Street complete with a land train that will take you for rides through the forest.

With home made local foods including Littlers Butcher Burgers, Sue Coward's Famous Pies, Cheshire Farm's Chunky Chips and  Cartwrights Tavern serving Frodsham Brewery's Christmas Ale, Mulled Wine and Cider ... this has got to be worth a visit.

Father Christmas will be in his Grotto on Saturdays and Sundays 4/5th, 11th/12th and 18th/19th December from 9am - 5pm. Santa will also there on the late Friday evenings openings on 10th and 17th December from 4pm - 5pm. Adults £1.50, Children £2.50.

On Friday 10th and 17th December the Highfield Male Voice Choir will be singing to get you into the Christmas spirit.
