A Free Exhibition ....
An exciting exhibition celebrating the fusion of textile art, poetry and social history by Maria Walker and Angela Topping at The inspired by a bundle of old letters.
Once upon a time, textile artist, Maria Walker purchased a bundle of letters from an antique shop in Cheshire. Five years later she met the poet Angela Topping and they discovered the letters were written by Angela’s grandparents.
This is an exciting and thought-provoking exhibition celebrating the fusion of textile art, poetry and working class life by Maria Walker and Angela Topping.
Inspired by this amazing coincidence, the artists explore the narrative contained in these letters through a combination of textiles, photographs, embroidery, ephemera, poetry and text.
The Gallery opening times are: 10:00am - 5:30pm Mon to Fri. 10:00am - 3:00pm Sat. Closed Sun.
