About St Helen's Church
Far and away the most historic building in Northwich, St Helen Witton was founded some time in the early 14th century and has been a site of continuous Christian worship for some 700 years.
It is usually known as 'Northwich Parish Church' although in fact it only formally became that in 1900. Before then it was technically a 'chapel of ease' belonging to Great Budworth parish!
A Grade I listed building, included on the Clifton-Taylor list of best English parish churches, it has an outstanding Tudor roof and superb Victorian stained glass windows,
St Helen's has been called 'the Cathedral of Mid-Cheshire'. Visit the Tower by appointment ... the views are unbelievable.
