The Weaver Hall Museum & Workhouse is on London Road in Northwich, Cheshire. It is the former Salt Museum.
If you are travelling by car, it is just over a mile from the A556 at Davenham. It is 7.7 miles from the M56 at Stretton
Your most convenient railway station is Northwich Railway Station although you may find a more convenient rail service to Hartford Railway Station
The walk from Northwich Railway Station takes you alongside the railway arches, past Vickers Way Park and over the River Dane. It is one mile and will take about 20 minutes. You can stop off for an ice cream at Vickers Way Park!
You can alternatively take The Arriva Route 1,1E bus service from the Railway Station to the Northwich Bus Interchange and then take a bus to the Museum. This service runs every 15 minutes, except on Sundays, when it is hourly.
If you choose to go by taxi, the journey is just over a mile from Northwich Railway Station and will take about 5 minutes under normal traffic conditions. From Hartford Railway Station it is 2.5 miles and will take about 15 minutes.
Northwich Railway Station is on the Mid Cheshire Line - a scenic route from Chester to Manchester via Knutsford, Altrincham and Stockport. Northern Rail operates this service.
From London and the South East take a Virgin Trains service to Stockport and change for Northwich.
From Liverpool take the Merseyrail service to Chester and change for Northwich.
From Birmingham and the West Midlands take a Virgin Trains service to Crewe, connect with a service to Chester then change for Northwich. If you are using a taxi from the station to the Museum consider changing at Crewe and taking the direct London Midland service to Hartford.
From Sheffield and South Yorkshire take a service to Stockport and change for Northwich.
From West Wales and Shrewsbury take the Arriva Trains Wales Manchester service and change at Stockport. If you are using a taxi from the station to the Museum consider changing at Crewe and travelling to Hartford.
From North Wales take a Virgin Trains or Arriva Trains Wales service to Chester and change for Northwich.
From Manchester Airport take a local service to Manchester and change for Northwich.
From Liverpool John Lennon Airport, which is served by Liverpool South Parkway Railway Station, take the East Midlands Trains Norwich service and change at Stockport. If you are using a taxi from the station to the Museum consider taking the direct London Midland service to Hartford.
