About the Weaver Hall Museum
On 1st June 2010 the Salt Museum at Northwich became the Weaver Hall Museum & Workhouse.
It now features the wider history and heritage of the Mid Cheshire area allowing the Lion Salt Works, in nearby Marston, to develop as the main salt-related visitor attraction for the area.
The Weaver Hall Museum uncovers many of the other stories relating to the fascinating history of Cheshire as well as exploring the workhouse history of its imposing Victorian building.
The museum is housed within the old Northwich Union Workhouse building and has displays about the building's history as a home for Victorian Paupers.
